Position Overview

Electra Link is seeking an experienced Voice Data Industrial Technician to support structured cabling installations in industrial environments.

This position will perform all phases of project installation, including identifying, pulling, labeling, terminating, testing, and documenting copper and fiber optic cabling systems. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of industry installation standards, understands manufacturer specifications, and is comfortable working in an active industrial environment.

What You'll Do

  • Identify, pull, route, dress, and label Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A copper cabling.

  • Install, route, terminate, and support fiber optic cabling.

  • Install cable-support systems including J-hooks, support rings, cable slings, cable tray, and ladder rack.

  • Perform structured cabling installations within industrial plant environments.

  • Terminate telecommunications closet equipment and structured cabling systems.

  • Perform multi-pair cable terminations using proper color-code standards.

  • Perform basic and advanced cable testing and accurately document testing results.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and cable pathways.

  • Assist with project site surveys and identify appropriate cable routes.

  • Maintain neat and professional cable dressing and telecommunications-room installations.

  • Follow applicable EIA/TIA installation standards and manufacturer specifications.

  • Follow all Electra Link and customer safety requirements.

  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, project teams, and other trades.

Qualifications

  • Previous structured cabling or voice/data installation experience.

  • Experience working in an industrial or plant environment.

  • Knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling systems.

  • Familiarity with EIA/TIA standards and structured cabling installation practices.

  • Experience terminating and testing structured cabling.

  • Ability to read blueprints and identify cable pathways.

  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Current TWIC card required.

  • Must be able to successfully complete Electra Link's pre-employment background screening.

  • Must be able to successfully complete the required pre-employment hair-follicle drug screening.

Preferred Experience

  • Fiber optic installation and termination experience.

  • Rigid conduit experience.

  • Advanced structured cabling testing and documentation experience.

  • Previous experience working on large industrial projects.
