We are seeking an experienced AutoCAD / BIM Designer to join our Dallas team. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong 3D design skills who enjoys collaborating with project teams to develop accurate drawings and Building Information Models for complex technology and construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of professional AutoCAD experience, a strong understanding of 3D BIM modeling, and experience working with Autodesk Revit.

What You'll Do

BIM & 3D Modeling

  • Develop detailed and accurate 3D Building Information Models (BIM) using AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Create and maintain drawings in accordance with project requirements, construction documents, and company standards.

  • Develop three-dimensional designs while considering spatial relationships, installation requirements, and constructability.

  • Coordinate BIM models with architectural, electrical, mechanical, and other trade drawings.

Revit & Drawing Coordination

  • Utilize Autodesk Revit to develop, modify, and coordinate project models.

  • Create and reproduce drawing overlays using architectural and engineering plans.

  • Identify potential design conflicts and coordinate necessary revisions with project teams.

  • Assist with model coordination and clash identification when required.

Drawing & Documentation

  • Produce accurate layouts, plans, details, and construction drawings.

  • Interpret specifications, project drawings, sketches, and field information.

  • Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation.

  • Incorporate revisions and redlines provided by project managers, engineers, field personnel, and customers.

Quality Assurance

  • Review drawings and models for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

  • Verify dimensions, layouts, and project information prior to issuance.

  • Identify discrepancies and coordinate corrections in a timely manner.

  • Ensure drawings meet project requirements and applicable company standards.

Project Collaboration

  • Work closely with project managers, estimators, engineers, field supervisors, and installation teams.

  • Participate in project coordination meetings as needed.

  • Communicate design questions, conflicts, and potential installation concerns to the appropriate team members.

  • Support projects from initial design and coordination through construction and final documentation.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional AutoCAD experience.

  • Experience creating and modifying 2D and 3D construction drawings.

  • Strong understanding of three-dimensional design and spatial coordination.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering, and construction drawings.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with Autodesk Revit and BIM modeling.

  • Experience working in structured cabling, low voltage, telecommunications, audiovisual, security, electrical, or related construction environments.

  • Experience creating drawing overlays and coordinating multiple trades.

  • Familiarity with BIM coordination and clash detection.

  • Experience working with project managers and field installation teams.

  • Knowledge of Bluebeam, Navisworks, or similar construction design and coordination software is a plus.
